Superhero Remittances

So at first this short photo project from Dulce Pinzon seems like yet another clever chuckle chasing stab at a solo show. Then you read the comments!

BERNABE MENDEZ from the State of Guerrero works as a professional window cleaner in New York. He sends 500 dollars a month. [Back to family in Mexico]

Pinzon went around and found Mexican immigrants with jobs that comic book superheroes might do especially well – waiter, marathon runner, delivery man, gigolo is the funniest – and convinced the people to dress up in these funny outfits for a photo shoot. Then in the caption he lists the real reason why he thinks they’re heroes.

Links and more pics after the jump.

LUIS HERNANDEZ from the State of Veracruz works in demolition in New York. He sends 200 dollars a week.

Dulce Pinzon also has worthy photo series on multiracial people.
